Honda Grom Rear Sets 3.0/ 2.0 – Installation Guide

  1. Gather your tools – You'll need a set of Allen keys, a torque wrench, and thread locker, sockets (8, 10, 12, 14, 19), snap ring plyers, blue lock tite!
  2. Remove the stock rear sets – Unbolt the OEM Rear sets and brake/shift linkage.
  3. Tips- You must do away with the stock washers that went between the stock rearsets and frame. Some models may require the kickstand safety switch to come off. Lay bike over on side if possible to relieve pressure off swingarm. Install shifter side first followed by brake side second. After completing shifter side with bike laying on its side, flip bike onto other side to complete brake side.
  4. Brake side

When installing master on the rearset bolts you might have to loosen the first set of nuts.

Washer order for the brake side: washer, brake pedal, washer(s) (or as seen fit), then pin.

  5. Spacer Order

    Brake Middle: 1-½” Spacer

    Brake Lower: ⅜” Spacer

    Shifter Middle: 1” Spacer

    Shifter Lower: ¾” Spacer

  6. Install the mounting brackets – Bolt the rear set  to the frame. Do not fully tighten yet, PLEASE USE BLUE LOCKTITE ON BOTH LOWER ALLEN BOLTS TO PREVENT THEM FROM BACKING OUT, aswell be sure to re tighten bolts after the rear sets face impacts.
  7. Reconnect the shift linkage – Attach the shift rod to the new shift lever.
  8. Torque all bolts – Tighten all hardware to spec and apply thread locker where needed.
  9. Test before riding – Check brake and shift function before taking the bike out. Aswell as adjust the brake switch for proper operation.
